LOS ANGELES: The small earthquake shook the larger Los Angeles metropolitan area on Friday night, but there were no direct reports of damage or large injury.
The magnitude earthquake-4.3 was hit shortly after 7:58 a.m.
And focused near Carson, about 21 miles (34 kilometers) southeast of LA downtown, according to the initial information from the US Geological Survey website.
The depth was reported about 9 miles (14 kilometers), the USGS reported.
Some people reported feeling waves starting from a few days to a few seconds throughout the area.
It feels like in neighboring cities, including Santa Monica, Torrance and Beverly Hills.
There were no problems reported at the oil refinery at Carson.
The Los Angeles Fire Department entered the earthquake emergency mode, sending vehicles and helicopters to patrol in the area of 470 square miles (1,217-kilometer) but said it did not receive a report on “significant damage or injury,” according to the department of the revelation.
Seismologist Lucy Jones told KCBS-TV that the earthquake “did not look abnormally at all.” “This size occurs on average somewhere in southern California every few months,” he said.
“When he happened to be in the midst of the Los Angeles basin, more people felt it and it became bigger news.”
