Mumbai: Maharashtra becomes the first country in the country to fully vaccinate the crore people against Covid-19.
As on Monday, the state has given two doses to 1,00,99,524 people while 2.15 Crore has got the first jab.
While rising remains at the top of the chart after being given most of the doses among countries at 4.52crore, it has managed to vaccinate more than 73 lakh people.
Maharashtra has provided 4.17crore doses because the national drive began on January 16.
Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray and Health Minister Rajesh Tope praised the Ministry of Health to achieve achievements.
Calling a new record set by the State, Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, additional major secretary, health said that the momentum of vaccination will depend on the volume of the dose received by the state.
“After the Monday session, we have more than 16 doses of lakh,” he said.
The highest vaccination has been in the age group above 45 years where 74.28LH people have obtained both doses while 1.01 Crore has got a dose.
In the bracket aged 18-44, around 4.5 people were vaccinated with both doses while 99.56lakh had received the first dose.
As far as health workers, 8.97lakh had been fully vaccinated while 3.88lakh had taken a single dose.
More than 11LSH frontline workers have been fully vaccinated while a little more than 10 lakh have taken the first shot.
In the district, Mumbai has provided the highest dose at 69.66lakh followed by Pune which has given a dose of 59.12lakh.
After several Lull Days, a total of 88019 people were vaccinated in the city on Monday.
The 18-44 year old bracket now dominates daily vaccination followed by 45-59 years.
The count of pregnant women who have taken vaccines in educating 200 (181).
