MAHA: 14-18% SSC, HSC examination costs to be returned

Mumbai: The State Education Council has decided to restore 14-18 percent of the costs collected for high school certificates (SSC) and higher secondary school exams (HSC) which cancel this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Junior Schools and Colleges have been directed to upload details of students who have registered for the SSC and HSC examination 2021.
The amount to be returned will be transferred to the bank account of each school.
This will then be the school’s responsibility to return the returned fees to students.
More than 16 lakh grade 10 and 14 class 12 students have registered for the council exam.
As a result, based on an internal assessment, stated by the council in July-August.
After a retired principal from Miraj in Sangli Regency submitting a pill looking for a refund of exam fees, the Bombay High Court has asked the council to consider the application.
The applicant has shown that the Board has collected more than Rs 150 Crore from students, and does not return it after the exam cancellation will amount to the issuance.
On Thursday, the Board decided to return some of the money collected.
10th grade students who pay Rs 415 for the SSC exam will get RS 59 or 14% refund.
12th grade students who have paid RS 520 will get a refund of Rs 94 (18%).
Students who appear for additional examinations in October will not be entitled to refunds.
The State Council official said that even though the test was canceled, expenditure was issued in preparation for the coming exam.
