Mumbai: The covid-19 weekly testing level in the state fell sharply from 17.2% to 9.3% on February 8, but there were still 23 districts where the level was higher than the average state.
Mumbai, who has been a hotspot for three Covid waves in the last 23 months, has a lowest weekly front level of 2.1%, according to the country’s update released on Wednesday.
Omicron-Covid waves, which began in Mumbai were around 22-23 December 2021, and peaked on January 7 with 20,971 cases, quickly decreased by 441 cases registered on Wednesday.
Last week, the city weekly tariff was 3.6%.
The weekly level of peposititivity is one parameter along with vaccination coverage to loosen covid sidewalks.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane (3.8%), Palghar (4.2%), Raigad (4.7%) and Ratnagiri (4.9%) had a lower level than the country’s average, indicating that the third wave was almost decrease here.
The Vidarbha Amravati district (27.1%), Nagpur (24.2%) and Wardha (23.2%) have more than 20% weekly peposititivity level.
An official said that even though the weekly average became more than 20% in several districts, it was still lower than the WPR reported by Gadchiroli 46% last week.
“Because of a decrease in cases, testing has dropped in many districts and they report an increase in the level of participants,” the official said.
The Department of Health Department of the State Department of the State Public Ministry of Public Works, “Some districts may have peaked earlier or the waves will begin a little slower than anywhere else.”
