Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 6,857 new coronavirus infections and 286 new deaths on Wednesday, taking the calculation of cases to 62.82,914 and the dead to 1,32,145, said an official of the State Health Department.
The country witnessed the increase in new cases and death Covid-19 compared to Tuesday, when it reported 6,258 infections and 254 deaths.
With 6,105 patients removed from the hospital during the day, the count of recovery in Maharashtra rose to 60.64,856, leaving the country with 82,545 cases of active, the official said.
According to officials, the state has 4,88,537 quarantine people at home and 3,364 in institutional quarantine.
The recovery rate of Maharashtra Coronavirus is now at 96.53 percent, while the mortality rate is 2.01 percent.
The official said the number of cumulative tests rose to 4,73.69,757, where 1,93,042 were carried out in the last 24 hours.
Significantly, Bhandara District did not record new Koronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.
He said the Mumbai region reported 1,168 new Covid-19 cases and 112 deaths, including 403 cases and six deaths in the city of Mumbai.
Tally of Covid-19 cases in the Mumbai region jumped to 16,37,744, while the death toll rises to 34,258, the official said.
According to him, the Pune region reported 2,314 new Covid-19 cases and 78 fresh fatality, including 307 infections and five deaths in Pune City.
Kaseload Covid-19 Pune Region rose to 14.87,544, while the death toll rises to 28.449.
The official said the Kolhapur region reported 1,690 new Covid-19 cases, followed by the Nashik region at 1,221, a stable area in 359, Aurangabad region in 56, Akola region in 22 infections at 22 and Nagpur.
The Kolhapur region registered 56 new deaths, followed by the Aurangabad area at the age of 18, Nashik region at the age of 15, the final area in four, the area of Akola in two and Nagpur regions on one death, official said.
Among 82,545 active patients in the state, Pune District had the highest at 15,768, he said.
Among 60.64,856 patients were restored in all states, the highest at 10,51,466 came from Pune District, he added.
