Pune: Seven districts in Maharashtra shared 42% of the population that were not vaccinated, who had not received a single dose of Covid vaccine, despite qualifying for photo shoots, the latest state health department reports revealed.
From the country 2.23 Crore Country, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Solapur, Nanded, and Ahmednagar have a population of 93.71 lakh above 18 individuals, who qualified to utilize free shots, but not yet advanced.
“These seven districts have a maximum population that is not vaccinated by the state.
We have focused on the use of interpersonal communication techniques and public education tools to motivate them to take a shot,” said the state immunization officer Sachin Desai.
The country has a population of around 9.14 crores above 18 individuals.
From them, around 6.90 crores have taken the first dose.
However, the remaining 2.23 crore has not taken one shot.
The growth of perception among the masses that the pandemic ends is one of the main obstacles that hold the state back from achieving 100% coverage of the first dose, experts said.
Seven districts collectively have an individual population of 2.9 crore, which qualifies for vaccines.
From them, 1,96,85,894 have taken the first dose, counting for 67% of the first dose vaccination until November 13.
About 32% of the qualified population remained not linked since the Covid inoculation program was launched on January 16.
