MAHA: 87% Frontliners in 18 DISS get two doses

Pune: Nearly 18 districts in the state are below the country’s average for full vaccination coverage of health workers and front lines.
In accordance with the data distributed by the Ministry of Health Public Health, the average coverage of the country (both doses) for both of these groups is 87%.
Of the 18 regencies, three – Jalna, Osmanabad, and Gondia – is a coverage of 71-78% for these two groups.
Vaccine doubt or technical error, with some frontline workers who enroll in other categories, are being verified, said state public health officials.
On November 17, six districts reached more than 90% vaccination of health workers, with Palanghar leading with 99.1% and the second chandrapur with 92.6%.
In the case of frontline workers, seven districts have reached the amount of coverage above 90%, with Palghar (97.8%) and Mumbai (92.3%) first and second.
A senior health official told TII that this was surprising, because health workers and frontline workers were the first to be vaccinated.
“It has been eleven months since the beginning of the vaccination drive, and after two waves, these groups should reach 100%,” the official said.
The official said they were looking for possible reasons, including vaccine doubt or technical errors.
Dr.
Sanjay Patil, Chairman of the Indian Medical Association Hospital in India, said there might be three reasons for this.
“At first, there was a problem with collecting data where the name was doubled.
Furthermore, when the program has begun, some hospitals have registered their staff through the open or public category and so, many names may not reflect under the category of health workers.
Third, There may be hesitation vaccines; they must be sensitive, “said Patil.
A senior revenue official said many officials, or those who have a “frontline” tag, have taken vaccines in group 44+.
“It needs to be checked twice and the data needs to be simplified.
There can also be some left due to delays in taking vaccinations, and some may wait for their second dose,” the official said.
