Mumbai: Covid cases in Maharashtra jumped 20% on Tuesday because more tests were carried out while Kaseload Daily Mumbai rose slightly.
The state registered 3,530 cases against 2,740 on Monday, while the city center rose to 367 of 345 in a 24 hour period.
Daily deaths in the state rose from 27 to 52 on Tuesday.
Covid testing has fallen because the celebration of GanPati in the last five days and the Ministry of Health has asked the district to increase the number.
While the 2.5 lakh test was carried out every day on average, it fell more than half to 1.1 lakh on September 12 and rose to 1.4 lakh on September 13.
In Mumbai, the BMC authority said the test had dropped a little due to the festival holidays and reluctance.
“But we have done a large number of tests every day unlike in some other districts,” said an BMC official.
The BMC Covid update on Tuesday said 28,498 tests were carried out the previous day, producing 367 cases and 1.2% testing levels.
Six of them are children at Oberoi Splendor Society in Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road.
Dr.
Mangala Gomare, executive health worker, said children had attended a birthday party.
“After one of them developed symptoms, they were tested and became positive,” he said, adding that children came from different buildings.
The number of active cases in the city jumped from 5,033 to 5,393 in a 24 hour period.
Dr.
Rahul Pandit, member of the State Task Force, said the Covid City graph began to change a week after limiting travel was appointed.
“Although there was no increase in cases seen in the first week, Caseload grew 20-30% in the next two weeks.
At present, it seems that it has added around 350 cases every day.” If the health system maintains the policy ‘Testing, Searching and Care’ , the plateau must stabilize further.
“However, we need to wait until the festival season ends to check whether the trend continues or if there is an increase in the case,” added Pandit.
In the state, 1 to 14 September may be the longest range when Vidarbha has not recorded a single Covid death since the pandemic began.
The last fatality – each from Nagpur and Amravati – was reported on August 31.
Last month, only 21 deaths in 11 districts were recorded.
Officials said testing would increase in the majority to detect waves in cases after the celebration season.
