Mumbai: Following the demands by parents and schools, the Department of School Education has submitted a proposal to the chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray who is looking for the reopening of all schools, including pre-primary classes, in the state of Monday, January 24.
This proposal is likely to be taken at a cabinet meeting on Thursday.
After increasing the third wave case, the physical class in schools and colleges in the state was closed until February 15.
School Minister Varsha Gaikwad said they empowered the local body to decide details such as the class to begin, frequency and from when.
“In the proposal we have sent this time, we have suggested the reopening of the pre-primary class, regardless of class 1-12, but the last call must be taken by local administration about which class they want to use the Covid-19 situation account in the area , “said Gaikwad.
The minister said they were looking for vaccination camps for students aged 15-17 years in schools and wanted it to make mandatory teaching and non-teaching staff to be fully vaccinated.
“We have sent proposals and hopes for a positive response.
The local government must plan how they want to call students and they must ensure that all SOPs given by the state government are followed,” said Gaikwad.
Officials say SOP will continue to be the same as them, and the approval of parents will be mandatory.
Shivnath Darade, President, Maharashtra Rajya Shikshan Samiti, said the school must be reopened but positive teacher testing must be given paid leave.
The principal said the school closure suddenly placed financial tensions.
“Every time we close and reopen, we have to spend in sanititis.
The state must allow school to decide to open and close,” said a headbreak of the bandra.
