Maha Colleges Close until February 15, Lectures Move Online

Mumbai: With the increase in Covid cases, the minister of higher education and technical Uday Samant on Wednesday announced that the college campuses throughout the state will be closed and teaching will be fully online until February 15.
The decision applies to all universities and universities – public, private and considered.
Students who occupy the hostel have been asked to go home, except foreigners who are allowed to stay and continue their education from the dorm room.
On Tuesday, Samant held a meeting with senior officials of the Ministry of Higher Education and all representatives of the University Chancellor while officers from various district authorities told every basic reality.
The decision to teach online came two days after BMC asked for school in Mumbai to close the campus for class 1-9.
Given all that, lectures and examinations have shifted to online mode, the way they did last year during the previous Covid-19 wave.
Government resolution for the effect will come out soon.
The state government has ordered a college to open the gate for students who are fully vaccinated from October 13, 2021.
The faculty and staff need to be fully vaccinated and the campus has been asked to call 50% of staff rotation, while the other half works from home.
From past experiences, it is clear that students face problems when taking a test from home.
Samant has ordered that all universities direct universities to run aid channels to overcome student complaints.
Universities must also provide detailed information to students regarding the syllabus of tests and technical questions.
“If students have a network problem, or if the electricity is lost, if there are candidates who have health problems or if he or someone in the family is covid-positive, all universities and colleges must be sensitive to this problem and ensure that candidates do so no less a year.
These rules apply to all universities and universities in the state, private and considered included, “Samant said.
He added that there was a bag under the University of Gondia, Jalgaon and Nanded where internet connectivity was very bad.
“In such cases, Chancellor’s representatives of each of these universities must discuss situations on the ground with disaster control authorities and collectors and together in the way and when the offline exam can be done.” School students who will take medium art tests, will be able to do it online.
“We have asked the art directorate to conduct an online exam because school students get signs of grace while entering class XI.
We don’t want them to lose it,” added Samant.
