Mumbai: Fresh Covid-19 detection in the state remains below 1,000 for fourth consecutive days.
On Sunday, Maharashtra reported 956 cases of Coronavirus, taking the country’s cumulative calculation to 66,24,300.
State officials said that almost 10 days after Diwali celebration, no unusual surge had been recorded so far.
But the situation must be monitored for 2-3 weeks.
After a slight increase in deaths was seen over the past few days, less than 20 deaths were reported on Sundays.
The Covid-19 toll road for the country currently stands at 1,40,583 with the addition of 18 deaths on Sunday.
Maharashtra’s cumulative fatality rate has been consistent of 2.14%.
“We have not seen a rise in post-diwali cases or deaths, but the windows are not completely over.
We have to witness the situation for two-three weeks again,” said Dr.
Pradeep kicked, the State Supervision Officer.
He added that the average test of 1 lakh to 1.25 lakh was carried out in Maharashtra every day.
“We have not seen an increase in the daily peposititivity level too,” he said.
Mumbai also continued to report less than 300 cases for the fourth day in a row.
On Sunday, the city added 264 cases, taking the overall case to 7.60.329.
Covid-19 death in the city remains in one digit for more than 105 days now.
With the addition of two deaths on Sunday, the victim Covid-19 Mumbai touched 16,292.
The two deceased had comorbidity, said a citizenship official, added one of them was a senior citizen and another in the age group of 40-60 years.
Active cases in the state (12,191) and in the city (35.80) have experienced a stable decline.
Among the districts, Raigad has reported maximum death in recent days.
On Sunday, 11 of the 18 deaths reported from Raigad.
Dr Shaute said this was an old death added to the state counting.
