MAHA: Covid death jumps to 53, the highest in more than 100 days

Mumbai: The day after a low Monday thanks to limited testing on weekends, Maharashtra reported a 26% increase in daily case detection to 39,207 on Tuesday and jumped 120% at Covid’s death.
The country recorded 53 fatalities, the highest in more than 100 days since October 8 (59).
The city recorded a 3% increase in cases (6,149), but for the third day in a row, daily detection remained under 10,000 cases.
Death fell to 7 out of 12 on Monday.
State Supervision Officer Dr.
Pradeep kicked that it was too premature to interpret the increase in mortality in the state as the worsening wave.
“This increase was mainly due to the delay in reporting deaths from several districts,” he told TI.
The third wave just started in most districts (except Mumbai, who had witnessed a decline) and every increase in deaths was usually seen in a week or two weeks after the top of the case.
The total cost of the state case reached 72.8 lakh with 1,41,885 deaths.
“Also, these deaths must be seen in a toll perspective during delta waves.
During the April-May 2021 period, Maharashtra would witness around 1,000 deaths a day,” said Wabe.
According to the Covid-19 daily report released by the Ministry of Health, the Mumbai region added 17 deaths, while Pune and Kolhapur Circle added 13 deaths.
Also, the Pune region (13,275) reported more cases than the Mumbai region (13,053) on Tuesday.
More than 4,000 cases were reported from the Nashik region.
The positivity of daily tests in Mumbai increased slightly from 12.5% to 12.9% on Tuesday.
“Our positive daily is more than 30% during its peak in the second week of January,” said a civilian.
BMC officials estimate that the third wave will drop significantly in the next two weeks.
“Cases can increase on Wednesday, but we hope the calculation to fall into three digits in January-end,” said the additional Municipal Commissioner BMC Suresh Kakani.
Kakani, who conducted Covid’s review on Tuesday, said he had asked the Jumbo Center Dean to limit reception to one or two wards.
“Bed housing continues to be low across the city.
We can open more when we need to,” he said.
According to the BMC dashboard, from 38,116 covid beds in the city, only 6,131 occupied now.
Senior officials said new cases began to surge in other parts of the country and delay in reporting could be a concern in this field.
Because of a large number of release, active cases in the state rose slightly while cases in Mumbai dropped to 44,084.
