Pune: Deputy Chairman of Minister of Pawar Ajit on Saturday said all districts have been told to examine the highest number of active cases during the first wave and second Covid-19 and improve health infrastructure, including oxygen, bed and medicine, for possible third waves.
The district is estimated to have 1,87,644 cases in the third wave, according to the model released.
Ajit Pawar said learning from experience from Iran, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Spain, South Africa and England, there is a need to create sufficient capacity.
Assessment is being carried out with cases during the peak of the first and second wave so that residents do not face difficulties in finding beds if the third wave hit Maharashtra, he said.
Against the background of the commemoration of experts that the third wave may begin in August, Ajit Pawar said the administration must be prepared to keep themselves in all fields.
“We try to increase the beds supported by oxygen and ventilators three times,” he said.
In vaccination, Ajit Pawar said the Pune District has inoculated according to the availability of doses.
He said that Maharashtra had demanded more supply vaccines to streamline drives.
