Thane: The Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde was reported to have received the threat of death from Naxalit.
The police said that Shinde received a threat in a letter around two weeks ago and, therefore, a violation was registered against an unknown person under the IPC Section 506 (2) (criminal intimacy) in the police wagle estate traveled in Thane.
Shinde, who heads the urban development ministry, is the art leader from Thane.
He is the Guardian Minister for the Thane and Gadchiroli District.
A senior police officer at Police Thane Komisarier said that the threat of death had been issued by some unknown people who claimed to be from Gadchiroli Regency full of Naxal.
The letter warned the minister that he and his whole family would be removed.
The threat is a warning for Shinde for its efforts to remove Naxal’s influence by bringing reforms in Gadchiroli.
The investigation has been submitted to Thane’s anti-extortion cells, and the source said that a team was formed to solve this case.
The source added that the team had visited Gadchiroli.
