Rajkot: A fisherman was killed and the others were injured in the sea shootout by the Pakistani Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) on a ship on Saturday afternoon.
The murder case was registered in 10 unknown people, wearing blue clothes and traveling with two ships, at the Marine Police Station Navi Bandar on Sunday.
According to the police, around 4pm on November 6 an Indian fishing boat named ‘Jalpari’ was fired around 12 miles of sea from Okha Beach in Devbhumi Dwarka district.
A fisherman named Shridhar Chamre (32), a resident of Palgharh in Maharashtra, died while Dilip Soanki, who lives in DU, suffered an injury.
Solanki had a lucky escape as a bullet swept his face.
After the incident, the ship returned to Okha in the early hours and Chamre’s body was sent to Jamnagar for postmortem by the doctor’s panel.
Solanki also underwent treatment for injury on his face.
The police said that the ship also suffered damage to the shooting.
The boat owned by Jayanti Rathod has sailed with seven fishermen on October 25.
Meanwhile, another fishing boat from Porbandar was detained by Pakistan on the same day.
Former President of the Marine Fisheries Cooperative Manish Lodhari said that the ship along with six fishermen on the boat was detained and taken to Karachi.
He added that so far 1,130 ships had been taken by Pakistan and 345 fishermen were still in Pakistani prison.

The seven fishermen on the boat were saved and taken to Okha by ICG.
