MUMBAI: The state government has chosen to deposit Rs 5 lakh as a fixed deposit at the accounts of each single child who lost both parents into Covid-19.
It’ll devote Rs 1,100 to each kid who lost one parent into Covid-19.
The nation is also considering free instruction for these kids.
There are 162 kids in the country who lost both parents into Covid-19.
More than 3,000 children have lost a parent into the coronavirus disease.
The cabinet on Wednesday resisted the suggestion to make a fixed deposit of Rs 5 lakh for orphaned kids, that will get the principal together with interest on end of 21 decades old.
The FD accounts is going to be a joint accounts and will have the titles of their kid as well as the district girls and child development officer.
The strategy will be useful for orphaned kids under 18 decades old with retrospective effect from March 1, 2020.
The country will offer Rs 1,100 a month and encourage below the Bal Sangopan strategy to kids who lost one parent.
“The help is going to be increased to Rs 2,500 a month shortly,” explained Yashomati Thakur, minister for women and child growth.
Thakur said that education department could require a last call on supplying free education to such kids.
She explained orphaned kids will get support from different strategies also.
An official stated that the country would prefer to deliver the children for their relatives because of their love using their cousins or other sisters in a household environment, rather than a children’s house.
