Mumbai: Following in the footsteps of the Central Education Council (CBSE), the state government on Friday announced evaluation criteria for higher secondary certificate students (HSC) by giving weight to class X, XI and XII in 30: 30:40 ratio.
Maharashtra became the first country to announce its marking criteria for private students to be evaluated at a ratio of 50:50 for class X and XII.
Other boards including CBSE still announce their assessment policies for students who emerge as personal candidates, emerging for isolated subjects and recurrent students.
All Lakh Plus students registered for HSC was declared passed after the April 27 exam was canceled last month due to a covid surge.
The Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray has signaled a marking policy similar to CBSE (30:30:40).
The Minister of Education Varsha Gaikwad said that for class X, the best of three subjects would be considered.
For class XI, the final result of students will be taken into account.
Both class X and XI have been given the same battery 30 percent because both academic years are pre-covid time, said Gaikwad.
In terms of class XII, a written, oral, internal task, practical work of students traveling around the year will be considered.
The junior college in the state, Mumbai restrictions, has been opened for the academic year 2020-21 from November 23, 2020.
Educational institutions throughout the state must be closed on March 202 because of the surge in Covid cases.
Most universities have conducted online tests, the first semester exam for class XII.
Universities that cannot delay written and verbal examinations, can do it online or call, according to government notice of the marking process.
For private students, class X and XII scores will be considered in a 50:50 ratio.
Anubha Sahai, lawyer and President of the Indian parent association said that the Maharashtra government was the only one who came out with a marking process for private students.
He urged other countries to declare a marking process for private candidates.
The teacher believes that the weight is not given to class XI (for regular students), because it is not serious about students.
“The state should provide the same battery with class X and XII scores.
Or likes in the case of private students, class XI can be abandoned,” said a professor from Mumbai College.
The time line of assessment work and uploading the sign will be released by the Board.
The results will be declared by the board will be final and there will be no revaluation.
The Supreme Court has directed all countries to declare results on July 31 to maintain uniformity.
CBSE will declare results on July 30.
