Mumbai: Minister of Environmental Environment The Aaditya Thackeray said the state government now “actively considered” alternative locations for Metro 3 warehouses insisting that Kanjurmarg still has the best choice because it has been proposed as a hub for three different Metro lines.
: 3.4 and 6 will cross the entire MMR region, extend beyond Mumbai.
“Obviously and final approval has not been taken, but other locations are under the active consideration of the government and discussed,” said Aaditya.
Delays in completing the location have arranged the project back several years and causing escalation of costs.
The site proposed for the Metro car depot in Kanjurmargon in his first day in the office in 2019, Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray canceled the car spilling Aarey Colony to get protests from citizens and environmental groups.
On October 12, 2020, CM stated that the car warehouse would shift to Kanjurmargo where, he said, the proposed plot is owned by the state and will require zero costs.

Timesviewovery two years after it canceled the Metro 3 car warehouse in Aarey, the Sena-LED Shiv government had failed to find alternative sites.
The cost of this subway project has increased by RS 10,000 Crore and funds from Japanese loan agents will also dry out immediately due to the absence of government actions.
The state must complete the car warehouse dispute and set a strict timeline to get the project back to its track.
If the depot cannot appear in Kanjurmarg, the location of the new sound is technically and financially must be resolved quickly.
“The plot of Kanjijurmarg is supposed to be a warehouse car for several Metro lines such as 3, 6, and 4.
It is designated by the ground for Metro 6 Car Shed.
Where will the previous government build a warehouse for Metro 6? It was only in Kanjurmarg,” said Aaditya.
“During the BJP administration they have no problem for Metro 6 cars that are shed on this plot (Kanjurmarg) but now the center has moved the field.” However, the rejection of the MVA regime to see beyond Kanjurmarg on other choices is increasingly seen as harmful to high-value projects that can change the quality of life for millions of commuters in Mumbai.
