Nashik: Commissioner of Kota Kailas Jadhav on Sunday said the state government had assured that it would provide RS 300 Crore funds to Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) to build a 25 km outer ring road on the outskirts of the city.
The proposed outer ring road, with a width of 24m, will help decongest traffic in the main area of ​​the city and allow fluent movement of vehicles on the outskirts.
Jadhav told Ti that he discussed the proposal with the Minister of Urban Development of the State of Eknath Shinde, who had convinced to provide funds for the outer ring road project.
“We have been told to submit a proposal for the Ring Road project to the state government,” he said.
Jadhav said with a rapidly developing city, there is a need for outer ring roads to increase connectivity with the edges.
“The proposed ring road will reduce traffic congestion in the main city area because traffic will be transferred through the outer ring road.
The road will begin with ADGON to other parts around the suburbs,” he said.
In addition, the Civic body has also proposed TI Park and logistics parks within city corporate limits.
The NMC administration has invited separate interest expressions (EOI) to develop IT Park and logistics parks in the city in a joint venture, where land owners have land with a minimum area of ​​50 hectares or more.
The logistics park will be developed within a 1 km radius on both sides of the proposed Chennai Highway letter.
The proposed Park project was the idea of ​​Mayor of Satish Kulkarni, who recently approved the project during the NMC public body meeting.
The Civic body has identified 15 hectares in the City Adgaon region for the proposed Park It.
