Maha Govt to discuss the sidewalk at a festival meeting

Pune: Head of Secretary of Sitaram Kunte on Saturday said the Maharashtra government would discuss restrictions on mass meetings and public events ahead of the celebration, after the center wrote to the country.
“We have received this letter from the Secretary of the Union Health.
The state will now discuss the way forward before the celebration,” Kunte Toi said.

This center has suggested a state to consider imposing local restrictions on mass events and public meetings to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
In a letter written to the Secretary of the Head of State, Kunte, UNI Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that even though the trajectory of new cases had shown a decline in the past month, several districts in the country showed several initial signs of increasing in case and test levels of participants .
The letter stated that considering that mass events and the expected public meeting during the upcoming festival, the state may “consider imposing and enforcing local restrictions in public observations on this festival and mass meeting”.
Taking a signal from Kerala, which enrolled more than 30,000 cases a day after Onam, the state had been told to be careful, said a health official.
Members of the State Task Force, Dr.
Shashank Joshi said, “After Kerala’s experience, we do not want to take risks because cases have just receded after the second wave.
We should not be careless to trigger the third wave.
So, testing, search and isolation must continue Aggressively, and we must be able to control small peaks observed after unlocking.

A similar letter regarding the control case was sent to Kerala also Purnama post-Onam.
State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said he had spoken with his Kerala colleague at a sudden increase in the Covid case.
The Indian Medical Research Council and the National Disease Control Center have previously increased concerns about the potential of mass meetings that lead to a surge in Covid cases, especially considering variants that are more transmitting by various countries.
