Pune: Maharashtra is ready to ensure a supply of 1,900-2,000 tons of medical oxygen a day as part of his readiness to respond to a surge in Covid case after the emergence of the omicron variant of the virus, said a senior health department official on Thursday.
The center on Wednesday review the supply status of oxygen, equipment, ventilators, and concentrators, among other medical equipment, with States and the United States and urge them to monitor the availability of important aspects of health care every day to ensure absolute preparedness of any increase Number of covid infections.
The official said the country had 366 swing adsorption (PSA) and 10 main liquid medical oxygen plans were ready.
Maharashtra needs almost 1,800 tons of oxygen during the second wave of covid pandemic.
The official said the state had prepared a supply of 1,350 tons of oxygen through LMO plants and 225 tons of air separation factories (ASP).
PSA plants can produce 379 tons of oxygen.
“This type of plant can supply around 1,900-2,000 tons of oxygen.
More PSA plants will emerge and will ensure an increase in supply,” the official said, adding that Maharashtra seems to be in a position to ensure the maximum oxygen supply among all countries.
“Maharashtra needs 1,800 tons of oxygen during the peak of the second wave.
At present, nearly 300 tons of oxygen is supplied to the hospital per day,” the official said.
This center has directed the country to do exercises to check newly installed plants at the end of December.
Other state government officials said all local authorities had been told to conduct detailed reviews of all their oxygen plants.
During Wednesday’s meeting, the center advised the state and UTS to ensure that the gap between equipment and systems sent to the district and installed at health care facilities was reduced to zero.
A total of 3,236 PSA factories have been installed throughout the country with a total capacity of 3,783 tons of oxygen generation.
The state public health experts argue that uninterrupted medical oxygen supply is very important to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.
