Mumbai: Maharashtra on Monday reported 889 new Covid-19 cases, the lowest daily infection since May 5, 2020, and 12 fresh deaths, the number of deaths one day in more than 18 months.
Nearly 1,600 patients recovered from infection, said a health department official.
The official said with this addition, the calculation in the country of Covid-19 rose to 66.03,850, while the dead increase to 1,40.028.
A total of 15 districts from a total of 36 did not report new cases.
The country has recorded 841 COVID-19 May 2020 cases, and nine deaths on April 20, 2020.
In general, the state reported fewer cases on Monday, especially because of the number of Coronavirus tests compared to other days.
Less than 85,000 tests are carried out in the last 24 hours.
The official said with 1,586 patients were dismissed from the hospital in the last 24 hours, the number of cases restored jumped to 64.37,025.
The state now has 23,184 active cases.
Maharashtra has 1,83,092 people in home quarantine and other 957 in institutional quarantine, he said.
The official said the recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 97.47 percent, while the death rate was 2.12 percent.
The cumulative number of Coronavirus tests in the country rose to 6.19.78.155 after 84,460 tests, the lowest in several times, was carried out in the last 24 hours, he said.
Mumbai Regency reported 263 new infections, followed by the Thane District (excluding Civic’s body area) in 110.
Among the eight Maharashtra regions (each consisting of the district set), Mumbai region reported the highest 464 covid-19 new cases, followed by the Pune region at 238, he said.
The Nashik region reported 127 new cases, Kolhapur 22, Aurangabad 18, Latur 13, Nagpur Lima and the Akola Dua area.
According to officials, among the 12 fresh fatalities, the highest eight reported from the Mumbai region, followed by two of each of the areas of Kolhapur and Pune.
Nagpur, Nashik, Akola, Aurangabad region did not report new deaths in the past 24 hours.
The official said Mumbai witnessed 263 new Covid-19 cases and seven deaths, while Pune City reported 57 cases, but there was no new death.
Among 23,184 active patients in the state, the Pune district had the highest at 6,923, he said.
Of the 64.37,025 patients recovered throughout the state, the highest 11,26,571 came from Pune District, the official said.
