Mumbai: Maharashtra on Saturday reported the lowest Covid-19 cases in 214 days even when Mumbai’s daily calculation fell below 400.
Officials said the decline in the celebration season.
Maharashtra reported 3,075 cases, the lowest since 9 February (2,515), and 35 deaths, lows in more than six months.
With this, the total case in the country rose to more than 64.9 lakh and death to almost 1.4 lakh.
On Friday, only 1.3 lakh tests carried out throughout the country compared to 1.5-1.7 lakh tests were carried out every day.
Mumbai reported 361 cases and four deaths, took a total Caseload 7.34 lakh and fatality to 16015.
Mumbai daily detection fell below 400 for the third time in September on Saturday.
However, the number of active cases in the city surged more than 5,000 (5.089) after more than two months.

The additional Commissioner BMC Suresh Kakani said that the level of participation in Mumbai is still around 1%, which “convinced”.

Kakani said BMC would be alert until October 5, two weeks after Ganpati Visarjan.

We must catch an early infection to check the spread,” he added.
State officials said that districts in Maharashtra Barat and the KONKAN region have been asked for extra cautious because this festival is celebrated in a big way in this area.
“We have also directed district collectors to ensure that Covid tests are easily available in their jurisdictions and are also carried out in crowded areas such as the market,” said a senior official.
