Mumbai: One person died of Covid-19 in the city in the last 24 hours.
The number of new Covid deaths reported in one day has not been low since the beginning of the pandemic in March last year.
During the worst, the city has seen up to 136 deaths registered in one day.
The woman, aged 40-60 years, did not have comorbidity, said the Civic body, added that the total Covid Toll Mumbai had reached 15,947.
The Covid Covid City Fatality rate is now at 2.15%.
Mumbai has reported death in one digit for three weeks.
Supplementary City Commissioner Suresh Kakani said that the city mortality rate was less than 1% through most of the second wave.
“The key is that people come to the hospital early,” he said.
Mumbai has reported the first positive Covid case on March 11, 2020, and the first death six days later (March 17).
Death remains in one digit until April 10, before they start climbing two digits.
In June 2020, the city had seen death in three digits.
Most of the deaths reported in one day were 136, reported on June 20.
During the second wave of this year, everyday death never crossed two digits in the city.
Cases also continue to be under 300 for Mumbai, but there is a marginal increase from Saturday.
The city reported 294 new Covid cases on Sunday, up from 262 on Saturday.
Tally Covid Cumulative Mumbai has touched 7.41,164.
The state continues to see a decline in daily case detection.
4,141 cases were reported on Sunday, taking Tally Covid the country to 64.24,651.
The state also reported 145 deaths, to take the toll as a whole to 1,35,962.
The active case in the state fell to 53,182 while Mumbai became 2,877.
Satara District reported 45 deaths, the highest in the state.
Ballasaheb Patil, Minister of Guardian District, told TOI more tracing, testing and direct care will be carried out.
