Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 997 new Coronavirus cases and 28 deaths on Thursday, took the calculation of infection to 66.21,420 and the death toll became 1,40,475, the state health department said.
On Wednesday, the state has recorded 1,094 cases of Coronavirus and 17 deaths.
A total of 1,016 patients were repatriated in the last 24 hours, which raised the amount of recovery in Maharashtra to 64.64.948, leaving the country with 12,352 active cases, the department said.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra is now at 97.64 percent, while the case fatality rate is 2.12 percent.
With 1,08,086 new tests, the number of samples examined so far in Maharashtra rose to 6,36.30,632, the department said.
On Thursday, six districts and four civil bodies in Maharashtra did not report a new Covid-19 case.
Mumbai district reported 276 newest infections in the state, followed by Pune District with 85 cases.
Among the eight Maharashtra regions (each consisting of the district set), Mumbai recorded 475 cases the highest during the day, followed by 259 in the Pune region.
Nashik Region reported 150 cases, Kolhapur 27, Aurangabad 32, Latur 37, Nagpur 10 and the Akola Seven region, said a health department official.
Mumbai reported 12 deaths, the highest among the eight regions of the country, followed by Pune (8), Latur (4), Nasik (3) and Kolhapur (1).
The Nagpur area, Akola and Aurangabad did not report fresh deaths because Covid-19, he said.
Of the total 12,352 active cases in Maharashtra, Mumbai Regency had the highest at 3,627.
At 11,34,097, Pune District has reported the highest number of recovery so far in Maharashtra, the department said.
The Coronavirus figure for Maharashtra is as follows: Total cases 66.21.420, new 997 case, total death of 1,40,475, total recovery of 64,64,948, active case 12,352, total test 6,36,632.
