NAGPUR:”A 45-year-old man purportedly murdered five members of his loved ones, including his wife and 2 teenaged children, prior to committing suicide by hanging himself at his home at Pachpaoli region of Nagpur at the wee hours of Monday,” police said.
“The accused Alok Matukar slit the throats of his wife Vijaya (40) and kid Pari (14) and also throttled his son Sahil (12) in his own home,” added commissioner of Police Sunil Phulari told colleagues.
“Then he went into the local home of his mother-in-law Laxmi Bobde (55) along with sister-in-law Amisha Bobde (21) and slit their throats,” the ACP said, including that Matukar later finished his life by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his home.
“The episode came to light that morning following neighbours of their Matukar family found the door of the house was closed at 9 am.
When a neighbor peeped through the window, then Sahil was discovered lying on the mattress dead in the drawing area.
Then they alerted authorities,” the extra CP said.
“The Tehsil authorities broke open the doorway of the home and discovered the bodies of Matukar, Vijaya, kid Pari and boy Sahil, whereas Amisha and Laxmi were discovered dead inside their house, which is some 200 metres apart from the Matukars,” Phulari stated.
“Matukar was at the tailoring industry and prima facie that it appears the murders and suicide would be the fallout of a national dispute,” that a Tehil police station officer said.
