MAHA: Mashelkar Panel emphasizes 70% school registration

Pune: Focus on research that will help people and society, the public-private partnership model to produce financial in education, introducing phytital education which will basically become a combination of physical and digital education are some important recommendations made by the Mashelkar Committee with respect for policy implementation New education in Maharashtra.
The recommendation was discussed during the State Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
The leading scientist and education of Raghunath Mashelkar, who led the committee, told TII on Friday that the emphasis of this report was to increase the gross registration ratio of 32% to 60-70%.
He also said that the report emphasized inclusive and equivalent education that would reach the poorest of the poor.
The report has stated that all students must qualify for free digital devices and infrastructure for students who can reach remote parts.
The report has stated that every student in the state must get end-to-end digital access when locking has shown how digital education and physical both go hand in hand.
Mashelkar added that reports touched several important aspects that showed a way to increase the registration ratio that must be duplicated from what is currently and at the same time concentrating on inclusive education and maintaining the balance of excellence.
“We also said in a report that there needs to be a good educational, research, and innovation balance.
Previously, there was an institute who only examined or only education but now we have institutions such as the Institute of Science, Education and Research and Indian Science Institute which focuses on research and education, “said Mashelkar.
“We need more than this.
Then we have also talked about the curriculum set to change drastically, the role of teachers and their training,” he said.
“Just because education digitalization occurs, it does not mean that the teacher will come out of work.
Their role will change and how to teach will be a big upheaval,” said Mashelkar.
He said that scientists who conducted research must focus on how it would improve human life and society.
Mashelkar said that finance in education is an important aspect and expert task force that belonging to leading people has provided good advice on public-private partnerships, CSR and other roads that can generate funds.
The report also recommends to change a three-year degree to a four-year program with a focus on research in the past year.
