Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is considering the provision of release from the restrictions induced by Coronavirus to people who are fully vaccinated, Deputy Minister of Chief Ajit Pawar, Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, Pawar also said the government pondered the extension of the time of shops and restaurants from the deadline at 4 pm.
He said decisions about giving relaxation at the end of the week might be next week.
“The country thinks of relaxing to people who have obtained both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
This will encourage residents to be investigated,” he said.
Pawar said the demand was raised to extend the timings of shops and restaurants starting at 16:00 to 19:00.
“We are thinking of expanding time for shops and restaurants but the final decision will be taken by cm.
We meet with experts on Monday after that the decision will be taken in relaxation on weekends,” said Deputy CM.
He said the government aims to vaccinate more people compared to the previous month.
Pawar said the state government took various steps such as adding medical infrastructure to anticipate the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“There are reports of the possibility of the third wave.
Based on the residential report in the hospital, the bed oxygen, bed ventilator and the demand for medical oxygen and other facilities in the first and second waves, we are preparing to get ready.
For the possibility of the third wave of pandemic in District Pune, “he said.
Maharashtra on Friday reported 6,753 new Covid-19 cases and 167 new deaths, took the calculation of infection to 62.51,810 and the death toll became 1,31,205, according to the Ministry of Health.
