Pune: Palkhis Sant Dnyaneshwar and Tamaram reached the village of Wakhari, about 8 km from Pandharpur, on the flower bus on Monday night, in the middle of ‘Jai Vitthal’ and ‘Dnynoba Mauli Tukaram’.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state government did not allow a pilgrimage and allowed 40 warcharis with each of the Palkhi this year.
According to the plan, Palkhis traveled under police protection to prevent disturbances during the trip.
People welcome the buses decorated by showering flowers and breaking firecrackers in many places along the route.
Some of them even tried to touch the bus.
In some locations, people queue along the route with cellphones in their hands to catch Palkhis’s trip.
