Mumbai: After the bumper was run in July, vaccination in the country had fallen sharply 30% in the first ten days of August.
Compared to nearly 40 doses of lakh managed in the first ten and the last ten days of July, the state has managed to manage less than 28 doses of lakh in August so far.

The state has received 8.26 crore doses in August so far.

The city, where even local train trips now depend on complete vaccination, only receiving 1.50 lakh doses in August, which is the city’s capacity to manage in a day.

Subhash Salunkhe, an advisor to the state government, called it “unfair” that severe countries such as Maharashtra and Kerala were not prioritized.
He also said rural areas cannot be given preferences if the third wave must be avoided.
Maharashtra has now received 3.7 doses of crore from the center and buying 25 lakh alone.
The rest has been given by the private sector and through CSR.
Mumbai has fully vaccinated 22% of the estimated population that meets the requirements of 90 lakh.
