Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 4,831 new Koronavirus cases and 126 deaths on Saturday, took the calculation of infection to 64.52,273 and the death toll became 1.37,026, said an official of the State Health Department.
4,455 patients were excluded from hospitals throughout the state, which took the cumulative amount of the recovered case to 62.59.906, he added.
Maharashtra now has 51,821 active cases.
There were 2,92,530 people in home quarantine and 2,357 in institutional quarantine.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 97.02 percent while the mortality rate was 2.12 percent.
The total Coronavirus test conducted in the state has so far risen to 5,34.56,403 with 2,00,379 samples tested since Friday night.
Nandurbar District, Jalna, Hingoli, Wardha, Nagpur and Bhandara rural parts did not report a new Covid-19 case since Friday night.
Urban areas in Nanded, Parbhani and Dhule also did not report new infections.
On the other hand, the Ahmednagar district reported 789 new infections, followed by the rural part of Pune with 597 new cases.
Pune City and rural Solapur reported the highest number of deaths – 18 each – since Friday night.
Among the eight regions, the Pune region reported the new Covid-19 case of 2,060, followed by 901 cases in the Nashik area.
The Mumbai region reported 850 new cases, Kolhapur 778, regiors of Latur 166, Aurangabad 29, Akola 28 and the Nagpur region reported 19 cases.
Of the 126 fatalities reported on Saturday, 59 the highest reported from the Pune region, followed by 28 of the Kolhapur region.
While the Nagpur area did not report new deaths on the second day in a row.
The Mumbai region reported 17 deaths, Nashik 18, the final area of two and Aurangabad reported one death.
The city of Mumbai recorded 391 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths, while Pune City reported 284 cases and 18 new deaths.
