Mumba: Maharashtra reported 5,031 new Coronavirus cases and 216 new deaths on Wednesday – the latter rose almost 100 from a day ago – taking infection calculations to 64,37,680 and the toll became 1,36,571, said an official of the State Health Department.
The state has crossed a sign of 5,000 daily after a 6-day loophole.
It has reported 5,225 Coronavirus infection on August 19.
Maharashtra has registered 4,355 cases of Coronavirus and 119 deaths on Tuesday.
Six districts namely Bhandara, Gondia, Nagpur, Washim, Nandurbar and Dhule, did not report Covid-19 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, and the same as Chandrapur, Amaravati, Nanded, Parbhani, Dhule and Malegaon Municipal Corporations (urban center), official said that.
He said 4,380 patients were dismissed from hospitals throughout the state in the past 24 hours, taking a cumulative amount of the recovered case to 62.47.414.
Maharashtra now has 50,183 cases active, he said.
The state has 2,98,264 people in house isolation and other 2,369 in institutional quarantine, according to officials.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 97.04 percent, while the mortality rate was 2.12 percent, he said.
The cumulative number of tests conducted in the country rose to 5,28,40,805, where 2.07,995 tests (up from 1.87.121 on Tuesday) were carried out in the last 24 hours, the official said.
He said the rural part of the Pune District reported 784 new infections, followed by Ahmednagar in 673, while Pune City topped the death list with 50 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Among the eight areas of Maharashtra, Pune region reported the highest new case at 2,506 followed by 777 in the Mumbai region.
Among other regions, the Nashik region reported 762 new cases, Kolhapur 742, Latur 167, Aurangabad 39, Akola 27 and Nagpur 11 Region, he said.
According to officials, between 216 fatalities, the 125 highest reported from the Pune region was attended by 33 of the Mumbai region.
Significantly, the territory of Akola and Nagpur did not report new fatalities on the second day in a row, while the Nashik region registered 29 deaths, Kolhapur 23, Five and Aurangabad region, he said.
The official said Mumbai witnessed 342 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths, while Pune City reported 417 infections and 50 deaths.
Among 50,183 active cases in the state, Pune District had the highest at 12,673, he said.
The official said among 62.47,414 patients recovered throughout the country, the highest – 10.81,061 – came from Pune District.
