Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 7,243 new Koronavirus cases and 196 deaths on Tuesday, took the calculation of infection to 61,72,645 and the death toll became 1,26,220, a health department official said.
A total of 10,978 patients were dismissed from the hospital since Monday night, taking the number of cases restored to 59,38,734, he added.
The country now has 1.04,406 active Covid-19 cases.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was 96.21 percent, while the mortality rate was 2.04 percent, the official said.
With 1,96,664 tests in the last 24 hours, the state has conducted 4.43.83,113 Coronavirus tests so far with the level of pepositives is 13.91 percent.
At present, 5,74,463 people are in the quarantine of houses and 4,607 are in institutional quarantine throughout the state.
Of the 1,04,406 active Covid-19 cases, the highest 16,663 was in Pune District, followed by Thane and Mumbai each at 16,100 and 10,611 patients.
Capital State Mumbai recorded 454 new Covid-19 cases, taking the level of city cases to 7.28,644, while the death toll rises to 15,644 with eight deaths.
The larger Mumbai division consisting of Mumbai and the surrounding satellite cities reported 1,444 cases and 31 deaths, took Caseload in the region to 16,18,082 and the death toll became 33,088.
Kaseload Division Nashik increased in 704 and also reported nine deaths.
Pune division recorded 2,058 new cases.
Of the 47 deaths reported in the Pune division, 29 took place in the Satara District.
The Kolhapur division added 2,514 cases of Covid-19 and 61 deaths, in which 21 deaths came from the rural part of Kolhapur while Ratnagiri and the rural part of Sangli Regency each reported 11 and 13 deaths.
The Aurangabad division reported 66 new Covid-19 cases and 42 deaths.
Covid-19 Kaseload in the Latur Division increased by 341 while the region reported four deaths.
There were 66 new cases and two deaths reported in the Akola division.
The Nagpur division recorded 50 new cases but no death.
Of the 196 deaths reported on Tuesday, 167 occurred in the last 48 hours while 29 took place in the last week.
