Maha reports 4,654 Covid-19 cases, 170 deaths

Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 4,654 new Coronavirus cases and 170 fresh deaths on Friday, took the calculation of infection to 64.47,442 and the toll became 1,36,900, a state health department official said.
The official said 3,301 patients were dismissed from hospitals throughout the state in the last 24 hours, took the cumulative amount of the recovered case to 62.55.451.
Maharashtra now has 51,574 active cases.
The state has 2,92,733 quarantine people at home and 2,337 others in institutional quarantine, he said.
The official said the recovery rate of Covid-19 Maharashtra was at 97.02 percent, while the death rate was 2.12 percent.
The cumulative number of Coronavirus tests conducted in the country rose to 5,32.56,024, including 2.07,954 carried out in the last 24 hours, he said.
Six districts namely Jalna, Akola, Wardha, Gondia, Bhandara and Nagpur did not report fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while the same thing was the case with the city of Nanded and Jalgaon (urban areas), he said.
The official said the Ahmednagar district reported 721 new infections, followed by Satara in 572, while Pune District topped the death list with 42 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Among the eight regions of Maharashtra, the Pune region reported 1,973 new Covid-19 cases, followed by 843 cases from the Nashik area.
Among other regions, the Mumbai region reported 815 new cases, Kolhapur 761, 194, Aurangabad 23, Aurangabad 23 and Nagpur 17 region, the official said.
According to him, among 170 fatalities, the highest 91 was reported from the Pune region, followed by 34 of the Kolhapur region.
Significantly, the territory of Akola and Nagpur did not report new deaths, while the Mumbai region reported 22 deaths, Nashik 14, Seven Latur and Aurangabad region.
The official said Mumbai witnessed 362 new Covid-19 cases and five deaths, while Pune City reported 281 cases and 42 new deaths.
Among 51,574 active cases in the state, the Pune district has 13,715 highs, he said.
The official said among 62.55,451 patients restored in Maharashtra, the highest – 10,82,045 – came from Pune District.
