Mumbai: Maharashtra reports the lowest Covid-19 daily detection in six months, while for the first time since April 18, 2020, the city recorded the lowest month calculation of Covid cases.
On Monday, the state reported 4,145 cases and 100 deaths and Mumbai reported only 195 cases and three registered deaths, but health officials recognized that a low number could be a result of fewer tests from Sundays carried out on Sundays.
While the city has managed 35,000 tests a day, only 26,484 tests carried out on Sundays due to lower health staff availability.
The total case in the state reached 63.96 lakh and death rose to 1.35,139.
While the total cases in Mumbai touched 7.39 lakh, 15,984 deaths had been recorded so far.
“There is no doubt that the second wave has died, but the case droplets continue and that is the cause of worries,” said Dr.
Rahul Pandit, a member of the state government covid assignment unit.
If people do not follow the appropriate rules of Covid, the third wave can begin faster than expected.
“Early unlocked, we must be careful.
Trends for the next few weeks will be very important,” he said.
