Maha saw 5,609 COVID-19 cases, 137 deaths

Mumbai: Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 5,609 positive cases of Covid-19 and 137 deaths, including the highest 46 in the Pune region, while 7,568 patients recovered, said an official of the state health department.
With new additions, the calculation of infection and death toll in Maharashtra rose to 63.63,442 and 1,34,201, the official said.
The amount of recovery has increased to 61,59,676, leaving the country with 66,123 active cases.
Compared to Monday, the number of cases rose 1,104 in Maharashtra while the calculation of fatality doubled compared to 68 deaths reported the day before.
The recovery rate of Maharashtra cases is now at 96.8 percent and the mortality rate is 2.01 percent.
Dhule, Nandurfrun, Wadder, Wardha, Bhandara and Gondia, and Malegaon and Parbhani Municipal companies did not report a new Covid-19 case, the official said.
In 782, the Satara district reported the highest number of new infections in the state.
Among the eight regions in Maharashtra, Pune region reported the highest number of 2,330 cases, followed by 1,413 cases in the Kolhapur region.
Among other regions, the Mumbai region reported 707 cases, the Nashik 683 region, the Latur 398 region, Aurangabad 33 region, Akola 31 and Nagpur Region 14, officials said.
Of the 137 fatality, the highest number of 46 deaths was reported from the Pune region, followed by 43 in the Kolhapur region.
Mumbai Region reported 19 deaths due to Covid-19, Nashik Region 11, an Aurangabad area of ​​eight, Five regions, Akola Four and Nagpur regions, according to officials.
The city of Mumbai saw 239 Covid-19 cases and five deaths.
The city of Pune reported 247 infections and five deaths.
Among 66,123 active patients in Maharashtra, Pune District had the highest number of 13,892 patients.
Pune District has a highest amount of 10.65,837 restored cases.
Dhule district does not have one active case, the official said.
With 1.79,402 new tests, the number of samples examined so far in Maharashtra rose to 4,99.05,096, the official said.
4,13,437 people were in the quarantine of houses in Maharashtra while 2,860 others were in the institutional quarantine, he said.
