Maha signed the MoU with the US for EV policy technology support

Nagpur: In an important step to implementing electric vehicle policies (EV) recently launched, the state government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a non-profit organization based in the United States Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) which will provide technical support.
to the country.
The signing took place at Glasgow at the United Nations Conference on COP26 climate change.
EV state policy, which was approved in July this year, aims to have a 10% share of electric vehicles in total registration in 2025.
It also targets 15% conversion of the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) fleet into electricity by 2025.
This policy provides Fiscal incentives for EV buyers and for their producers along with subsidies for the creation of filling infrastructure.
In accordance with the press release by the state government, RMI is a 40-year-old non-profit working on clean energy transitions globally.
“In Maharashtra, RMI has been involved with the city of Pune through the EV city accelerator platform to make Pune ev-ready.
We hope to continue our partnership in electrical mobility, ZEV, hydrogen fuel and decarbonization of our transportation sector and the urban update sector” said Minister of Environment The Aaditya Thackeray country on the signing of the MoU.
