Pune: More than 80% of students, parents and teachers in Maharashtra have shown their willingness to continue schools offline in a study conducted by the State Education and Education Training Board of Maharashtra (SCERT).
This survey was taken voluntarily by 2.6 Lakh participants and 83% said the school had to be reopened.
The survey was launched on Friday and shared with various stakeholders for the state government to make the right decision about the reopening of the school.
This survey has basic questions about the details of the name and address and if the school must be reopened to teach offline.
Director of Scerter, Dinkar Temkar, said, “On the first three days of the survey, nearly three respondents participated and a large number of these participants, more than 80%, argued that the school had to be reopened.” Since March 2020, when Covid-19 infection spread across the country, schools have been closed and education is being carried out online.
In November, schools reopened for IX and X standards for a short period before being closed in January with an increase in Covid-19 cases.
During this period, schools in rural areas were reopened to STD VIII but in urban areas remained online to educate.
Again, the state government has started a survey to immediately reopen the school.
The state government has also issued a notification that announces the guidelines to reopen them in the coming days.
Former educational director, Vasant Kalpande, said students suffered as a result of the closed and difficult school to say how much learning was lost.
“Because of the fear of the pandemic, how many sectors will be closed? It won’t be wise to risk losing education and pandemic.
In fact, there should be stress on school from STD I.
Like last year, the declaration of parents can be taken,” he said.
Last year, the class of IV IV standards did not start at all.
It must restart where the infection rate is low, he added.
There is a risk even when students sit at home.
“Considering all this, schools must be reopened.
International organizations have recommended the reopening of the school,” he said.
The reopening will be decided by the seven member committees established in villages that have been free of Covid for a month.
Along with maintaining the Covid protocol in its place, parental permission is a must to start a physical school.
Classes every day may not exceed four hours and only the main subjects must be taught.
Each class should not have more than 20 students and the presence is not mandatory.
Permission will be for class VIII-XII.
While some schools can be reopened from July 15 in rural areas, decisions regarding the initial degree of college offline still have to be taken by the state.
Higher Education Minister Uday Samant said last week that universities could not start at least a month.
