Pune: The Maharashtra government intends to tweak the vaccination plan to multiply the number of beneficiaries inoculated every day.
Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, Secretary of the additional chairman of the Ministry of Health, wrote to all districts aimed at Maharashtra to increase the number of daily vaccination sessions to almost 8,500 of the average of 3,000-4,000 at this time.
Dr.
Ramaswami N, Maharashtra National Health Mission Commissioner, on Thursday told TII the government had targeted the average vaccination of 13-15 lakh per day to increase coverage.
The state also told the municipality to conduct three vaccination sessions per urban primary health center (UPHC) a day and five sessions per urban health center (UCHC) a day, wherever this facility is available.
Dr.
Vyas has told district authorities to increase the number of vaccination sessions after the supply of covid vaccines from the union government increased this month.
The two-crore vaccine dose is likely to be available for the state in September.
He also asked the district authority and city corporation to hold a meeting with Ganesh Mandals, NGOs, Corps of National Cadet (NCC) and religious leaders and seek their help in increasing the number of vaccine recipients.
“The Covid Vaccination Monitoring Committee must be arranged for each village to guard tabs in preparation and planning inoculation sessions,” he said.
Dr.
Ramaswami said, “Over the past few days, we achieved an average vaccination of 9.5-10 lakh per day in the state.
We now want to further increase daily shots after encouragement in the dose supply from the trade union government.
The aim is to ensure Daily vaccination numbers remain high for a sustainable period and achieve full immunization in the state as soon as possible.
“He said the Ministry of Health also monitored carefully how many sessions planned and carried out every day in the district.
Dr.
Ramaswami said even if the country received 3 doses of crore in September, it would be able to use it.
“Vaccine equipment in September is expected to be more than the last two months.
The current plan is to increase the number of sessions up to a minimum of 6,000 per day.
The plan is to push this further to around 8,500.
This will help the state increase the number of doses given per day Two to three lakhs of the current average, “he said.
