Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Thursday announced the sidewalk at the Christmas meeting in the churches and said it would impose fresh restrictions to reduce crowding during the celebration season even when the number of cases of Mumbai Covid-19 almost tripled to 577 from 190 reported on November 23.
Government notice of new restrictions will be issued on Friday.
The Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting late at night with members of the Covid-19 task unit.
An official said the government was considering increasingly reducing the number of people permitted in a closed area, regulating working hours for the company and forcing night hours or part 144 of the Indian crime code to control the crowd in places.
“Detailed orders will be issued tomorrow.
The only goal is to curb crowding during the celebration season,” the official said.
A senior minister, with anonymous conditions, said that Omicron waves are expected to begin in mid-January, but a sudden surge in the case in the past few days is the cause of worries.
“We want to understand the experts who trigger a surge.
Previously, India and Maharashtra would see a surge of about two months after a similar increase in Western countries,” added the minister.
Not yet determined whether the omicron variant which highly transpaced had spread in the community in Mumbai, but the State House Department on Thursday issued guidelines that allowed 50% of the church capacity for Christmas celebrations.
“There are no kiosks and shops permitted outside the church and social distance, masking and the use of sanitisers must be strictly observed,” said the government’s notice of the Christmas celebration issued on Thursday.
Increased graphics are mainly limited to the Mumbai region; On Thursday, of 1,179 cases registered in Maharashtra, the Mumbai region contributed 821 cases.
Daily deaths in the state rose from eight on Wednesday to 17 on Thursday, but Mumbai only registered one death.
