Pune / Mumbai: Even as 1.3 lakh people were vaccinated against Covid-19 in Mumbai on Saturday, the state government planned to vaccinate large amounts on Monday after receiving fresh shares.
The country gets 19 doses of lakh from the center and has sent this to the district – including 75,000 for Mumbai to spend stock quickly.
Of these, 15.7 lakh is a dose of covishield needed for almost 97% beneficiaries because of the second dose.
About 3.7 doses of Lakh Covaxin has been sent too.
According to state data, more than 16.1 Lakh people will mature for the second dose of covishield and more than 7.75 lakh for the second Covaxin Jab.
Commissioner of the National Health Mission Maharashtra Ramaswami n Tahu Ti: “We hope to get more vaccines in September, so we try to cover up maximum beneficiaries because of the second dose in time.” At pressure on the maximum coverage on Monday, he said, “We have told the district to resolve many of the latest doses so we can get more vaccines from the center and increase further coverage.
The faster the dose is given and run out, we can demand more Vaccines afterwards.
“Meanwhile, from 1.3 lakh people who were vaccinated in Mumbai on Saturday, 50,734 doses were given in BMC centers while 79,389 were given in private centers.
The total number of doses provided in Mumbai since January 16 is 91.4 lakh, including 24 lakh people who are fully vaccinated with two doses.
According to the data vaccine data, 9.9 lakh people were vaccinated on Friday, taking the number of doses distributed as far as 5.63 crores.
Ramaswami said the country was expected to get around 30 doses of lakh vaccines for school teachers as special cases in the next three to four days.
“Overall, this country will provide around two doses of crore to countries to vaccinate school teachers.
Maharashtra usually gets around 10% of the total amount,” he said.
The Ministry of State Health wants to vaccinate between nine and 15 lakh people every day so that they can discuss the population who qualify in the next three months.
Ramaswami said all districts must ensure that the due date is not a hose.
“Some states in India have allocated a number of days a week to give a second dose.
We analyze a wise list of districts and, if necessary, we can use such settings too,” he added.
