Pune: The waste of vaccines continues to be a concern in several countries.
District like Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Kolhapur, Latur, Parbhani, Sangli, Sindhudurg, Nanded and Satara, have reported relatively high covaxin waste levels.
In some cases, waste has been more than 10% permitted, data from the Ministry of Public Health shows.
The covishield vaccine, Bed, Dhule, Gondia, Latur, Parbhani, Mumbai reported waste 5%.
Central guidelines are also taken into account in a 10% allowable waste.
Dr.
Pradeep Vyas, Head of the Main Secretary of the Ministry of Health, in written communication to collectors, Division and City Commissioners, urged them to control the waste of vaccines.
In his letter, Dr.
Vyas said several districts had reported a waste of negative vaccines, which meant they had attracted more doses of bottles.
But he said there was a district “who had reported a very high vaccine level, which needs to be minimized”.
At least 20 state districts – including Pune, Ahmednagar, Nagpur, Amravati and Jalgaon – have reported covishield waste at 0% or less.
A fewer amounts – almost eight districts – so far report 0% or waste covaxin.
One way to avoid waste is for vaccines to extract more doses of bottles and show negative waste, the Ministry of Health said.
Data also shows that some districts vaccinate less than 100 recipients per session, which can cause waste or use of sub-optimal resources.
The average state is 104 beneficiaries per session.
The Ministry of Health said that every vaccination session is expected to cover a minimum of 100 beneficiaries.
Because the vaccine used at this time is not under ‘open-vialic policy’ and must be used in the specified period, low additions at the vaccination center can cause waste.
DN Patil, state immunization officer, said, “Vaccine waste data uploaded by the district in Cowin (which has an intelligence intelligence intelligence network system Evin or Electronics).
Sometimes, when there is a delay in uploading the latest stock data, it may look like a waste.
But it’s not The problem is that only the minimum district that reports a higher vaccine waste.
