NASHIK/PUNE: Sachin Solat, a part of Ahmednagar’s paediatric job force, said that there was nothing alarming about nearly 10,000 kids and teens testing positive for Covid from the district in May.
“The amount was approximately 11.
5percent of the complete Covid cases enrolled from the month at the district, which will be okay.
There’s not anything unusual about any of this,” he explained.
In accordance with Solat, over 96-97percent of the kids and teens infected in May were also hospitalized.
For instance, he stated the 350 Covid patients currently undergoing treatment in the civic hospital, just half were aged below 18.
Solat explained the majority of the cases were in the rural areas of the district, where the disease had spread.
“These kids and teens have the disease from seniors in the household who were originally infected.
We have to remember there are dozens and dozens of joint families remaining in 1 house, in which the disease can spread readily,” he explained.
District collector Rajendra Bhosale reported the coronavirus from the next tide of the pandemic has been very virulent.
“However a part of teens who got infected were in not pursuing the constraints imposed by the district government and proceeded around in public areas without sticking to Covid security protocols,” he further added.
State paediatric task force member Dr Aarti Kinikar stated the panel had taken notice of the large number of kids and teens getting infected in Ahmednagar and has been working to determine the motives supporting it.
“The task force will meet Tuesday at Mumbai, in which the Ahmednagar issue is going to likely be discussed,” she added.
The police were not able to immediately provide information of kids and teens who got infected from the district in March and April.
Ahmednagar town NCP MLA Sangram Jagtap explained the government had begun preparing for the next tide maintaining youngsters in your mind.
“The government has begun meeting paediatricians from the district to talk about what has to be completed in situations where kids become infected in huge amounts.
We also have asked private hospitals at the area to begin preparing Covid wards for kids.
The government will shortly notify the state authorities about its own requirement of medications along with other matters to take care of children infected by Covid,” he said.
