Patna: Former Head of CM and Human Rights Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday lent his support to around 135 Mahadalit families from the village of Belwadih under Panchayat Rice in Style District which had adopted Christianity.
Manjhi told Media Informational There was nothing wrong if the Mahadalit family (Hindu) has entered their own Christianity for their “growth and improvement”.
“Meditate this.
Why did they adopt Christianity? They must be ignored and their sentiment is very hurt.
They do not respect their own homes,” said Manjhi, added that no one pressed Mahadalit to change religion.
“Religious conversion is not a threat to national security.
We are a democratic country where every religion is equally respected,” he added.
The head of human rights remembered how a temple in the Madhubani district was washed as soon as his visit.
“This happens when I am the main minister.
If such a situation applies, more conversation incidents will be revealed,” he added.
Referring to the ideology of Dr.
B Ambedkar, Supremo Ham said he was talking about a public school system to bridge the gap between homfes and did not have.
Manoj Manjhi, a resident of Belwadih Village, said that most members of the Mahadalit community took part in a prayer in a church under the Dobhi Block in this district.
He alleged that they were not allowed to pray at the village temple by part of people.
Local residents said about 200 mahadalits from 35 previous families have adopted Christian in the village of Atiya under Paria Pancayat in the style district of about seven years ago.
