Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Mahametro) will make a shared stretch in which Metro work is underway throughout the city.
A PMC official on Tuesday said Mahametro had been told not to explore the road without permission.
“Our team is in inspection.
Repair and filling the hole has begun in several places,” the official said.
Hemant Sonawane, General Manager (Public Relations) in Mahametro, said the steps were taken along with the PMC repair road in all stretches.
A separate team will now work on stretches along the PAUD road, Karve Road, Raj Bahadur Mill Road and others, according to Maha-Metro.
“Agents who work in the field have been told to make improvements to priority.
We communicate with the Municipal Corporation Road Department and expand the assistance needed to recover the road,” Sonawan said.
At the intersection or stretch with a large traffic flow, Mahametro installs prefabricated structures to avoid road closure, he said.
Road users and selected representatives have been seeking repairs regularly.
Mahametro official meeting and Municipal Corporation was also held recently.
A separate team will now work on stretches along the PAUD Road, Karve Road, Raj Bahadur Mill Road and others, according to Mahametro.
Murad Shaikh, a driver of the Autorickshaw operating in Pune Station, said the stretch of road from the Sangam Bridge to Bund Garden who needed repairs.
“The road is bound to deteriorate because of the metro work.
The driver navigates around the hole, wet road, dust, diversion, and uneven patches,” Shaikh said.
Drivers who use PAUD Road and Karve Road raised similar problems.
Dipali Shetti, a private bank employee, said there was a hole and rude spots along the stretch where the Metro work took place.
“The road must be cleaned regularly.
Also, the need for lighting must be increased for the safety of road users at night,” Shetti said.
According to Sandeep Khardekar activists, routine meetings and visits were held with Mahametro and PMC officials to minimize commuter problems.
“We have also told administration to ensure that other facilities such as pathpapts, trails, and crossings along the road remain intact during metro work,” Khardekar said.
