However, on Saturday when they found a large amount of dead turtles floating on the edge of the lake, they told the local EX-BJP Corporator Gaikwad who told the forest team.
The forest team reached on a place on Saturday night and saved 8 turtles alive from the lake and found around 85 of them died.
A forest officer told Tii, “to find out the exact cause of the turtle death, we have told the Maharashtra pollution control board officials to get a sample of water tested to find whether it was polluted or there was another reason behind the death of turtle”.
