Amravati: Minister of Guardian Yashomati Thakur on Friday instructed the district administration to ensure maximum compensation that was possible to four Nandgaonpeth residents who were injured in the Leopard attack on Wednesday, but fear of gripping the city again because there was other big cat sightings.
Given Leopard’s fear, Thakur has asked the Ministry of Forestry to carry out intensive search operations and instruct MSEDCL to supply power to farmers during the day on the basis of security.
Thakur asked four injured farm workers being treated at the district public hospital.
They were attacked by leopards while working on a farm at Sangameshwar’s place on Wednesday.
Even though the leopard was trapped that night by the Forester, a new leopard was seen in the area on Friday, fostering fear in the minds of farmers.
The Guardian Minister said the leopard needs to be “sought and trapped earlier” to protect residents.
He held an emergency meeting with the Ministry of Forestry and MSEDCL officials on Friday and told them on steps that must be taken.
