Maharashtra: Bamu Pupils get 645 fellowships

AURANGABAD: Pupils of this Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) have shrunk as much as 645 distinct fellowships at the previous five academic years.
Bamu, that’s the oldest college in Maharashtra, has maintained that it’s top one of other state universities at acquiring such fellowships in the Centre and the nation.
Bamu public relations officer Sanjay Shinde on Wednesday stated several pupils from Marathwada banning from very modest backgrounds and urgently seek fellowships to be able to keep their higher studies.
“The University Grants Commission (UGC) of this Centre in addition to Maharashtra government provides distinct fellowships for needy, worthy students.
In the academic year 2015-16 into 2020-21, 645 of our pupils have become eligible for these fellowships, that’s the maximum amount compared to some other state colleges,” he explained, speaking to official statistics.
According to the data supplied by Bamu, 439 pupils received fellowships provided by the UGC while the other 206 pupils became eligible for fellowships of their state authorities.
Shinde said girls accounts for nearly 50 percent of their country authorities fellowships.
Student activist Tukaram Saraf stated fellowships earned with a great number of pupils has aided Bamu enhance its standing at domestic and worldwide levels.
