Aurangabad: The State Excise Ministry stormed Ginning and Pressing Mill which did not function in Bed District and explore the illegal state liquor manufacturing unit.
Superintendent State Superintendent Nitin Ghule told Toi, “We have solved the state liquor units, which we suspect fully operational and pump countless Hooch bottles in the open market.” He said such illegal liquor units did not only cause state losses but also pose a serious threat to consumer life.
The article worth around Rs 25 Lakh has been confiscated from the factory, while a manhunt has been launched for people suspected of running a racket.
Police supervisor R Raja said, “Joint action is the result of the police and the State Excise Department taking steps to take action against this illegal business.” He said that direction had been spent to scan all previous criminal records from those related to damaged units on Thursday.
After the attack, a violation had been registered at the Bed Rural Police Station against One Rohit Chavan, who was booked six months ago for being involved in similar activities.
The state excise authority collected several samples from stock confiscated to make it checked in the lab.
“The suspect uses enthusiasm and adds some essence into it, before packing the same bottle, attach stickers and sell it on the open market along with original liquor,” said the Yogesh Police Assistant Yogesh Ubale.
The articles seized include four brand liquor brands.
This is the most consumed liquor brand in the state.
