Maharashtra competes against time to avoid the health crisis

Pune: Maharashtra slightly behind the leader of the Covid Vaccination of Uttar Pradesh in the dose given so far – 3.8 crore vs 3.9 crore – but the second dose coverage is the highest.
However, six months into vaccination programs, only 10% of the Maharashtra target population has been fully inoculated and slow pace makes experts worry.
In fact, Lakh Maharashtra Health Workers (HCWS) – first in line when the vaccination program began on January 16 – still in the process of getting their shots.
While 8.72 lakh HCW has received both doses, 12.83 lakh from them just got the first shot.
In the general category, 1.72 crore people over 45 in Staet have been given their first jab.
Only 61.02 lakh has received both doses.
Public health experts say the country, and the state, are now racing time to prevent the main health crisis.
Fast vaccination has appeared the only way out.
“Now people who obviously do not follow the appropriate behavior of Covid, even to protect themselves.
The only possible intervention for the government is vaccination.
The center has promised adequate doses; it must take care of his words.
Unless we vaccinate 70% From the earliest population, we headed for the main health challenges, “said the State Duty Unit from Subhash Saluke.
The State Immunization Officer Dr.
D N Patil said they were ready to give 10 doses of lakh a day, but the center needed to release such volume.
“We have done more than eight lakh vaccinations every day and are ready to do it again.
This center needs to release an adequate number of doses for Maharashtra.
The stock we receive will now end in one or two days,” he said.
The district-district of Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Nagpur and Nashik provide the highest number of doses.
But the coverage is much lower in Wardha, Washim, Gadchiroli, Hingoli and Sindhudurg.
In ten districts in the state – Jalna, Parbhani, Ratnagiri, Nandurbar, Wardha, Washim, Osmanabad, Sindhudurg, Gadchiroli and Hingoli – less than one lakh people have received both doses.
Patil put aside variations in the distribution of vaccines or doubts in several regions.
He said the country was determined to vaccinate everyone.
Data shows that in Mumbai, as many as 50.03 lakh people have received their first dose and 14.33 lakh has been given both.
The numbers are 41.83 lakh (first dose) and 11.92 lakh (both doses) in Pune District; 23.1 lakh and 6.5 lakh in Thane; 15.05 lakh and 4.81 lakh in Nagpur; And, 12.56 lakh and 3.56 lakh in Nashik.
Salung said the district with low vaccine coverage must accelerate.
“These districts need to adopt all possible public outreach programs and increase the number of vaccination centers to achieve 70% inoculation targets of their population, because of herds,” he said.
